The International Berkeley Society was founded in 1975 to promote the continuing study of the philosophy of George Berkeley (1685 – 1753). Members of the IBS are selected each year to be Berkeley Scholars in Residence at Whitehall. There is a small apartment upstairs for the scholar and family.
During July and August, the philosopher in residence is available for tours Wednesday through Sunday 10 – 4. The museum house is closed on Mondays. Whitehall docents give the tours on Tuesdays.
